Brad M. Cashion
Brad Cashion is a Managing Director with The Mentor Securities LLC and The Mentor Group Inc. He has extensive experience in valuing and preparing private companies for sale and capital raising. In addition, he has participated in financing of real estate and business assets. Among the investment banking transactions completed by Mr. Cashion are sellside, buyside, restructuring, strategic partnerships, private placements, spinoff, and senior and mezzanine debt. He has counseled many public companies regarding fairness opinions, stock options for IPO's, and acquisitions. A particular expertise of Mr. Cashion is technology and intangible asset analysis, including valuations of in-process research & development for Tele-communications; Bio-Tech and Software companies. Furthermore, he has consulted on various Buy-out transactions of minority interests and advised management teams on the stock swap ratios in business combinations. He has performed numerous valuation engagements for Internal Revenue Code 409A. He also has experience in the entertainment industry, including valuations of music catalogs, literary copyrights, film libraries, and the persona of well-known entertainment personalities.
He specializes in developing and implementing valuation models for estate and gift taxation; litigation; pre and post bankruptcy plans; tax agency negotiations; mergers and acquisitions; and IPO's. His clients span many industries - from film production companies to health care providers ... from food wholesalers to retailers ... and from manufacturers to airlines. Mr. Cashion has been qualified as an expert witness and has testified on behalf of his clients.
Another unique expertise is the valuation of life insurance policies for purchasing the policies from a retirement plan, and valuing "carried interests" owned by partners in private equity funds.
Prior to working with The Mentor Group Inc. and Mentor Securities LLC, he was a partner with a major investment firm and Executive Vice President of Keystone Financial Services, Inc.
